Mercedes-Benz Launches Facelifted GLC 300 4MATIC and More

[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] Mercedes-Benz Korea officially launches on the 13th the facelifted models of The New Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 4MATIC and The New Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 4MATIC Coupe as the first new cars of 2020.

The GLC, the successor to the GLK, was launched domestically in January 2016 and has gained popularity as a practical model combining modern design, spacious interior, and excellent stability. Following the GLC, the GLC Coupe, launched in Korea in 2017, has been well-loved for its unique stylish design and sporty driving performance. Since its launch, the GLC family has sold a cumulative total of 24,260 units domestically as of December last year, establishing itself as the best-selling sports utility vehicle (SUV) in the Korean market.

The newly launched 'The New GLC 300 4MATIC' and 'The New GLC 300 4MATIC Coupe' are equipped with Mercedes-Benz's latest infotainment system MBUX and the newest driving assistance package, enhancing convenience and safety.

Mark Raine, Vice President of Product and Marketing at Mercedes-Benz Korea, said, "The New GLC is a model that boasts improved driving performance and practicality based on refined exterior and interior design, the MBUX infotainment system, and various convenience features." Mercedes-Benz plans to expand its lineup by sequentially launching various new models, including Mercedes-AMG models and plug-in hybrid models.

The New GLC 300 4MATIC

The New GLC 300 4MATIC features a powerful yet distinctive exterior based on the design philosophy of 'modernity, strength, and versatility.' Chrome accents applied from front to rear emphasize sportiness, while distinct lines and muscular surfaces reveal a robust character suitable even for off-road conditions.

The New GLC 300 4MATIC Coupe combines the flexibility of an SUV with the sensuous style and sportiness of a coupe, presenting a more stylish exterior. The bolder A-pillar angle lowers the roof silhouette, and the diamond design inside the front radiator grille further accentuates the strong image of The New GLC Coupe.

The interior harmoniously blends premium materials and innovative technology, creating smooth lines and beautiful balance. The wide digital instrument cluster features a new style interface, offering various display styles such as Classic, Progressive, and Sport according to the driver's preference. The latest infotainment system MBUX allows operation of vehicle functions and information search through intelligent voice recognition. Additionally, the system can be easily controlled via the touchscreen, touchpad, and control panel on the steering wheel.

The New GLC 300 4MATIC Coupe

The inline 4-cylinder M264 turbocharged gasoline engine equipped in The New GLC 300 4MATIC and The New GLC 300 4MATIC Coupe delivers powerful performance with a maximum output of 258 horsepower and peak torque of 37.7 kg·m. This engine also offers excellent reductions in carbon dioxide emissions and fuel consumption.

Moreover, both models come standard with various convenience features to create a more comfortable and safer driving environment. Standard features include the Lane Departure Prevention Package, LED high-performance headlamps that are brighter and more energy-efficient than previous headlamps, and Adaptive Highbeam Assist that widens the field of vision with a broad range of headlamps.

In particular, The New GLC 300 4MATIC Premium and The New GLC 300 4MATIC Coupe Premium models come standard with the latest version of the Driving Assistance Package, enhancing safety as well as driver convenience.

Mercedes-Benz's safety philosophy is also evident in The New GLC and GLC Coupe. The Pre-Safe Plus system installed in The New GLC and GLC Coupe detects imminent rear-end collisions and sends rapid signals through rear hazard lights to warn vehicles behind.
