Available at ZeroPay merchants in Gwanak-gu from the 15th... Save 50,000 KRW on purchases up to 500,000 KRW with a 10% special discount during the initial sales period... 0% merchant fees and up to 30% income tax deduction benefits at year-end tax settlement!
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Junhee) will issue 10 billion KRW worth of the mobile local currency "Gwanak Sarang Gift Certificate," linked with Zero Pay, starting from the 15th to promote local consumption and increase sales for small business owners.
The Gwanak Sarang Gift Certificate is issued only in mobile form in three denominations: ▲10,000 KRW ▲50,000 KRW ▲100,000 KRW, and can be used at Zero Pay affiliated stores within Gwanak-gu.
Consumers can purchase up to 2 million KRW per person per month, with a 7% discount applied for purchases up to 500,000 KRW.
Additionally, a 30% income tax deduction benefit is available during year-end tax settlement.
Especially, during the initial sales period including the Seollal holiday, a special 10% discount is applied, allowing a 50,000 KRW discount on a maximum purchase of 500,000 KRW.
Small business owners have no fee burden as the payment commission is 0% regardless of sales volume, and since gift certificate payments are included in the value-added tax deduction targets, they can also benefit from tax burden relief.
The Gwanak Sarang Gift Certificate can be purchased at a discounted price by installing mobile gift certificate apps (such as CheckPay, MoneyTree, BizPlay, NongHyup All One Bank, etc.) on a smartphone and registering a payment account.
The usage method is the same as the Zero Pay payment method. Consumers scan the QR code installed (attached) at Zero Pay affiliated stores with the camera of a simple payment app on their phone, enter the amount, and make the payment, or show their consumer QR code and have the store scan it to complete the payment.
As of the end of last month, there are 6,879 Zero Pay affiliated stores where the gift certificate can be used, including restaurants, beauty salons, academies, pharmacies, neighborhood marts, convenience stores, and various other industries.
Use is not allowed in gambling industries, entertainment and nightlife businesses, and considering the purpose of introducing the gift certificate to increase small business sales, usage is restricted in large stores, some large corporate affiliates, and franchises.
Mayor Park Junhee said, “Consumers can consume at discounted prices, and small business owners will benefit from increased sales, which is expected to greatly contribute to revitalizing Gwanak’s economy,” and added, “We hope many will actively use the Gwanak Sarang Gift Certificate, which will be a new vitality for the local economy.”
Zero Pay affiliated stores can be checked through the Zero Pay website [www.zeropay.or.kr].
