KT Launches 5G Plan Exclusive for 20s with Enhanced Roaming Benefits
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] KT is launching a 5G (5th generation mobile communication) data unlimited plan exclusively for customers in their 20s.
KT announced on the 12th that it will launch the 'Y Super Plan,' a 5G data unlimited plan for customers aged 29 and under, on the 13th. The Y Super Plan is divided into two types: Basic with a monthly fee of 80,000 KRW and Special with a monthly fee of 100,000 KRW.
The Y Super Plan maintains the unlimited data benefit without speed control (QoS) across all sections of the 5G Super Plan, while enhancing the 'data roaming' benefits preferred by customers in their 20s.
Data roaming can be used unlimited at speeds up to 1Mbps (megabits per second) in 185 countries worldwide. 1Mbps is a speed that allows smooth use of internet services such as browsing and Google Maps.
There is also a discount benefit for one smart device line. Y Super Plan Special customers can use the 'Data Together' smart device exclusive plan, worth 11,000 KRW, for free. Basic customers can use one smart device line at a 50% discounted price.
Additionally, Y Super Plan Special offers free use of a VVIP membership worth up to 92,000 KRW per month (including two free Seoul Land admission tickets) and the 'KT Super Safety' device loss and damage insurance worth 4,500 KRW.
If customers receive both the 25% selection discount and the 25% premium family combination discount, they can use the two Y Super Plan types at up to a 50% discounted price. Basic customers pay only 40,000 KRW per month, and Special customers pay 50,000 KRW per month.
Furthermore, KT introduced the 'Y Slim' plan for customers in their 20s who do not use much data. Y Slim offers 8GB of data per month (with speed control up to 1Mbps after data is exhausted) at the same monthly fee of 55,000 KRW as the existing '5G Slim' plan.
It also provides additional data roaming at speeds up to 100Kbps. 100Kbps is a speed sufficient to send messages on KakaoTalk. Both Y Super Plan and Y Slim can be subscribed to from the 13th until June 30.
To commemorate the launch of the plans, KT is running the 'Y Friends Promotion Season 2' until the 29th of next month. If five customers aged 29 or under who have subscribed to the Y Super Plan or Super Plan gather in the 'Y Friends' section of the Y Box app, they can receive a special gift from Musinsa.
Customers can choose one gift from Mark Gonzales two-way bag, O!Oi sweatshirt, or Kirsh sweatshirt. Y Box is an app that offers various benefits such as data gifting.
