"Defectors, People Trying to Gain Recognition Through Anti-North Sentiment" Lecture... Korean Party Asks, "Is This Red Unification Education?"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] The Liberty Korea Party criticized the content of the peace and unification education for elementary, middle, and high school teachers held over two days starting from the 9th as "communist unification education."
Jeon Hee-kyung, spokesperson for the Liberty Korea Party, pointed out in a statement on the 12th, "This is not peace and unification education but communist unification education. It is not education for teachers in the Republic of Korea but content suitable for training cadres of far-left organizations."
Earlier, some media reported that during this education held from the 9th, an instructor criticized, saying "North Korean defectors are people trying to be recognized in the South through anti-North sentiment," "conservative-leaning groups are social outcasts and surplus," and "protests by conservative groups are elderly people excluded from society holding Taegeukgi flags and shouting anti-communism, anti-North, and pro-America."
Spokesperson Jeon criticized, "This outrageous education was hosted by the Ministry of Education. The Ministry of Education has lost its mind," adding, "By what criteria do they select instructors to choose such a person? Is the Ministry of Education’s goal to educate elementary, middle, and high school teachers with such insane nonsense and have it passed on to students?"
