Yeongsangang Regional Environmental Office Hiring 'Water Quality Conservation and Monitoring Environmental Guardians'
Recruiting 40 People... Applications Accepted Until the 28th
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Yeongsangang River Basin Environmental Office (Director Kim Sang-hoon) announced on the 10th that it will hire 40 "2020 Environmental Guardians" to monitor water quality conservation activities in the Yeongsangang and Seomjingang Rivers.
The recruitment announcement period is scheduled to continue until the 28th, and it will be posted on the Yeongsangang River Basin Environmental Office website and the government-supported job site Worknet.
Local residents who wish to participate as Environmental Guardians can apply online or fill out the application form and submit it by mail or visit in person to the Aquatic Ecology Management Division of the Yeongsangang River Basin Environmental Office.
The Environmental Guardian project, promoted as part of the government's income support-type direct job program, prioritizes the selection of vulnerable employment groups (low-income, disabled, etc.) among local residents living in the Yeongsangang and Seomjingang watershed areas, to provide income support necessary for maintaining the livelihood of the employed groups.
After this first round of recruitment, an additional 10 people will be hired in a second round, focusing on the upper stream section of the water source dam.
The selected Environmental Guardians will work 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, performing various environmental conservation activities such as monitoring and guiding environmental pollution acts in the Yeongsangang and Seomjingang basins, riverbank cleanup activities, local resident education and promotion, and investigation of compost management conditions along the riverbanks.
A daily wage of 68,720 KRW will be paid, and a fixed daily expense of 13,000 KRW will be provided for actual working days.

We hope for much interest and participation from local residents in this Environmental Guardian recruitment, and as the number of participants increases compared to last year, we expect the effect of preventing water pollution in advance to be further enhanced."
