KakaoPage Holds 'Jeju Webtoon Camp' to Recruit New Webtoon Artists
Web Novel 'Sin-ui Matseon' Reborn as Webtoon
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] Kakao Page is looking for rookie writers to co-produce webtoons based on web novels.
Kakao Page announced on the 10th that it will hold the novel comics contest "Jeju Webtoon Camp" together with the webtoon production studio Kenaz. This event is a contest to recreate Kakao Page's original web novels such as "God's Matchmaking" and "Fragmented Saint" into webtoons. Fifteen selected writers will receive one month of mentoring on webtoon production from active webtoon artists after the screening process.

The contest is open to adults aged 19 or older who are rookie writers with less than six months of official serialized work experience. Applicants must submit a portfolio along with sketches of the main characters of the desired web novel by the 22nd. A Kakao Page official stated, "We are conducting this to discover new talented writers and provide mentoring to create the best works, creating an opportunity for creators and the platform to grow together."
