View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] A total of 5,000 employees of a Chinese company visited Incheon for a 5-night, 6-day corporate meeting and incentive tour. This is the largest single event since the THAAD (Terminal High Altitude Area Defense) conflict between Korea and China erupted in 2017.
Yiyongtang (溢涌堂), a health and wellness food sales company headquartered in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, China, held a corporate meeting combined with a management strategy and new product presentation at Songdo Convensia in Incheon on the 9th.
At the event, K-wave stars Hwang Chi-yeul and Lee Jung-hyun performed, allowing employees to enjoy various cultural events and strengthen unity and cohesion.
Those who entered through Incheon Airport starting from the 7th stayed in 1,120 hotel rooms in the Incheon area. After the corporate meeting, they toured metropolitan area attractions such as Gyeongbokgung Palace, Lotte World, the Folk Museum, Wolmido, and Incheon Chinatown, and are scheduled to return home on the 12th.
Park Nam-chun, Mayor of Incheon, emphasized in his welcoming speech, "We hope that this large-scale corporate event will serve as an opportunity to restore the MICE network with China and continue active cultural and economic exchanges between Korea and China."
Yiyongtang is a company that sells health and wellness foods such as enzymes and collagen. Since its founding in 2015, it has established a sales network throughout China, recording annual sales of 5 billion yuan (approximately 900 billion KRW). In 2018 and last year, it held overseas corporate events with 2,000 to 3,000 participants in Indonesia and Australia, respectively.
The choice of Incheon Songdo as the venue for this corporate event is known to have been influenced by the excellent MICE infrastructure, including high-quality unique venues, accommodation, and conference facilities concentrated in the area.
In this regard, from October last year, multiple on-site inspections were conducted with corporate delegations, land operators, and sending companies, and in November, Incheon Metropolitan City, Incheon Tourism Organization, and Yiyongtang signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the successful hosting of corporate events and incentive tours.
Meanwhile, although the Chinese government's 'Hanhanryeong' (Korean Wave restriction order) has not been completely lifted, Incheon has been striving to attract various corporate meetings from the Chinese-speaking region.

Starting with 3,000 employees of Guangzhou Anyueok (YOLOYAL) Medical Technology Co., Ltd. in September last year, Incheon succeeded in attracting 5,000 employees of Yiyongtang this year. It is expected that large-scale corporate meetings and incentive tour groups from the Chinese-speaking region will be reignited in the first half of the year in line with Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to Korea.
