President Moon's Approval Rating Rises to 49.2%... Widening Gap Between Positive and Negative Evaluations [Realmeter]
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] President Moon Jae-in's approval rating for his administration showed a gradual upward trend, maintaining the high 40% range.
According to Realmeter's announcement on the 9th, based on a survey commissioned by tbs conducted from the 6th to the 8th, positive evaluations of President Moon's administration rose by 0.2 percentage points from the previous week's weekly aggregate to 49.2%. Negative evaluations decreased by 0.5 percentage points to 45.7%. The gap between positive and negative evaluations was 3.5 percentage points, within the margin of error (±2.5 percentage points).
By ideological inclination, negative evaluations among conservatives fell below the 75% mark (negative evaluation 76.6%→74.5%, positive evaluation 23.3%), while among progressives, positive evaluations remained steady at 76.6% (positive evaluation 76.6%→76.6%, negative evaluation 20.5%).
Among moderates, positive evaluations dropped below the 45% level again (positive evaluation 46.9%→44.2%, negative evaluation 50.3%→51.5%), remaining lower than the negative evaluations, which stayed in the low 50% range.
In other detailed demographic groups, approval ratings rose among conservatives, people in their 30s, and residents of Seoul, while they declined among moderates, people in their 40s and 20s, and those from Honam.
Regarding party support, the Democratic Party of Korea rose by 0.2 percentage points to 42.0%, continuing its upward trend for the third consecutive week and maintaining the low 40% range. Meanwhile, the Liberty Korea Party fell by 0.9 percentage points to 31.2%.
Additionally, the Justice Party declined by 0.1 percentage points to 5.4%, continuing a three-week weakness, and the Bareunmirae Party also dropped by 0.3 percentage points to 4.3%, remaining in the low 4% range. The Party for Democracy and Peace recorded 2.2%, and the Our Republican Party stood at 1.3%.
