Busan City Promotes '2020 Warm Lunar New Year Holiday' Initiative
Visited Social Welfare Facility to Deliver Donations and Goods
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Yoseop] Busan City will implement the '2020 Warm Lunar New Year Celebration' plan starting from the 10th, ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday.
Busan City has designated the period from this day, two weeks before the Lunar New Year holiday, until the 23rd as the intensive promotion period. During this time, senior officials and all departments of the headquarters and business offices will visit 137 social welfare facilities to deliver donations and gifts.
In addition, expenses for ancestral rites tables will be supported at four homeless shelters to hold joint ancestral rites. For 32,000 elderly households living alone, 50,000 KRW per person will be given as holiday consolation money. Public institutions and related organizations will also participate in supporting socially vulnerable groups.
Warm sharing from related organizations practicing neighborly love is also expected to continue.
BNK Busan Bank, a representative company in Busan that has practiced sharing every holiday, has once again stepped up this year to help neighbors in need within the region. On the 13th, Busan Bank held a 'Neighborly Love Donation Ceremony' at Busan City Hall and plans to deliver a total of 400 million KRW in donations to 8,000 low-income households through the Busan Community Chest of Korea.
On the 21st, the Busan Community Chest of Korea and Korea Asset Management Corporation will also join in practicing neighborly love. The Busan Community Chest of Korea will provide holiday support funds worth a total of 600 million KRW, giving 50,000 KRW per household to 12,000 low-income vulnerable households and residents of small room counseling centers. Korea Asset Management Corporation will support a total of 80 million KRW worth of infant and toddler supplies to 320 low-income and single-mother households. The Busan branch of the Korean Red Cross will prepare donations worth 66 million KRW to provide staple food sets to 2,655 low-income households.
