Famous Male BJ Who Fled After Assaulting Partner Admits Charges in First Trial
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ga-yeon] A famous internet broadcast host (BJ) who went into hiding after assaulting their partner and was caught six months later has admitted to all charges against them.
At the first trial held on the 8th at the Incheon District Court Criminal Division 10 (Judge Lee Seo-yoon), the defense attorney of A (26), who was indicted on charges of injury and detained, stated, "We admit to all charges and agree with all the evidence presented by the prosecution."
A submitted a written opinion to the court stating that "at the time of the crime, I drank a lot of alcohol along with medication due to sleep disorder and anxiety disorder." The opinion reportedly also included that "I experienced abuse during childhood, which caused aggression towards women."
A was indicted for assaulting their partner B at an officetel located in Namdong-gu, Incheon, in June of last year. B is reported to have sustained injuries requiring eight weeks of medical treatment, including facial injuries, due to the incident.
Following a complaint from the victim B, the police began an investigation. When A did not respond to summons, an arrest warrant was issued, and a manhunt ensued.
About six months after going into hiding, in December of last year, A was caught by police at a movie theater in Seocho-gu, Seoul, following a citizen's report.
Previously, A was also indicted for violating the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, among other charges, and was sentenced to 10 months in prison with a two-year probation in the first trial.
