DB Insurance Supports Health Management with Smoking Cessation and Diet Funds
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] DB Insurance announced on the 8th that it will implement a smoking cessation and diet fund to support employees' health commitments for the new year.
The smoking cessation fund targets employees who currently smoke and have plans to quit. They need to submit a smoking cessation pledge and a health management resolution. Employees contribute 50,000 KRW monthly to the fund, and after three months, the total fund amount is evenly distributed among those who successfully quit smoking. Of course, those who give up midway lose 150,000 KRW.
The diet fund sets weight loss goals based on height and weight, and after three months, the accumulated amount is distributed to those who succeed. Due to the recent diet craze, it is said that many more employees participate in the diet fund than in the smoking cessation fund.
From 2006 to last year, 247 employees succeeded in the smoking cessation fund, and 968 succeeded in the diet fund. This year, 160 employees have applied.
