According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the accumulated rainfall from this rainstorm until 4 a.m. on the day recorded 56.2mm in Seoul, 97.5mm in Sokcho, 71.8mm in Pohang, 71.5mm in Sangju, 126.0mm in Gurye, and 78.5mm in Nonsan. The Jeju (Samgakbong) area received a large amount of rain, reaching 194.5mm.
The amount of rain that fell in Seoul in just one day yesterday was 46.3mm, breaking the record for the highest rainfall in early January (1st to 10th). The previous record was 21.7mm on January 7, 2001. In addition, many places nationwide, including Incheon, Suwon, Cheorwon, and Pohang, surpassed their highest rainfall records.
Usually, in January, temperatures drop below freezing, so more snow falls than rain, resulting in lower daily rainfall compared to other months. However, this winter has seen an unusual situation where cold air from the north did not move southward, and a low-pressure system from the southwest brought heavy rain. The previous day, Jeju's daytime high temperature rose to 23.6 degrees Celsius.

Seoul's morning low temperature is expected to be -5 degrees Celsius, with a wind chill temperature dropping to -9 degrees Celsius. The expected snowfall in the Gangwon mountain area is very heavy, ranging from 5 to 20 cm.
