[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] LG Uplus is holding a ‘U+ Zero (Let's Roam Properly) Roaming’ event for customers traveling abroad in the new year.
LG Uplus will provide generous prizes such as air purifiers, pizza/coffee vouchers, and overseas roaming gift certificates to 500 customers selected by random draw among those who participate in the event by the 22nd. To participate, customers can visit the ‘Ongoing Events’ section on the LG Uplus website and submit their ‘Travel Plans You Want to Take with U+ Overseas Roaming Zero.’ Winners will be individually notified on the 29th via the phone number entered during the event application.
January is classified as a peak season when the number of U+ overseas roaming users increases by more than 10% compared to other months. Especially this year, with the Lunar New Year holiday, the number of travelers visiting airports is expected to increase further. Choi Hong-jun, head of the LG Uplus Global Roaming Team, said, “January is the time of year when roaming service usage is the highest,” adding, “We will introduce various additional events to coincide with the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday for overseas travelers.”

In September last year, LG Uplus revamped its roaming products with the ‘U+ Overseas Roaming Zero Plan,’ significantly enhancing voice and data benefits. Within just four months until December, the number of users of the ‘Zero Plan’ increased by 20% compared to the same period last year. Data usage increased fivefold. Voice usage also increased fourfold, resulting in customers saving approximately 9.1 billion KRW in fees.
