Targeting Honsoljok and D-turn Generation... "Gathered All Online Shopping Trends"
Lotte.com Launches Holiday HMR Event
Premium Hanwoo Beef Sets Also Available
'Good Consumption' Young Farmer Fruit Sets Included
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] Lotte e-commerce's Lotte.com announced on the 7th that it will hold a holiday gift event reflecting the latest purchasing trends such as ‘Honseoljok’ (people spending Lunar New Year alone), ‘consumption polarization,’ and ‘good consumption’ until the 21st.
During the holiday event period, Lotte.com will introduce convenient meals for the ‘Honseoljok.’ Recently, as the number of ‘Honseoljok’ who spend Lunar New Year alone and ‘D-turn jok’ who perform simple ancestral rites and enjoy the remaining holiday period has increased, Lotte Mart’s home meal replacement sales during last year’s Chuseok holiday grew by more than 30% compared to the previous year. Reflecting these consumption trend changes, Lotte.com sells a simple ancestral rite set for 69,000 KRW and home meal replacement (Mille-feuille Nabe) for 10,900 KRW.
Additionally, reflecting the ‘consumption polarization’ trend where one person purchases both high-priced and low-priced products, Lotte.com is implementing a two-track strategy by simultaneously selling high-end department store gift sets and cost-effective gift sets online. ‘Consumption polarization’ is a latest consumption trend mentioned by Professor Kim Nan-do of Seoul National University in his book ‘Trend Korea 2020.’
During the event period, Lotte.com will sell the highest-grade Korean beef sets sold at Lotte Department Store. The ‘L-No.9 Set,’ composed of No.9 (Marble Score 9), the top grade among 1++ grade Korean beef, is priced at 1,350,000 KRW. The ‘4989 Planning Exhibition’ offering cost-effective gift sets will also be held. Cost-effective gift sets are available at affordable prices, ranging from canola oil worth 4,900 KRW to a premium meat set No.1 (2kg) worth 89,000 KRW and comprehensive vitamin sets.
Gift sets related to ‘good consumption,’ which considers the positive social impact, also attract attention. The ‘Cheongnyeon e-Pumda’ gift set, in collaboration with the Rural Development Administration to boost the morale of young farmers and promote co-growth with farming households, is available. ‘Lee Seok-mo’s Cheongsong Honey Apple (5kg),’ featured on a TV entertainment program, is priced at 20,640 KRW, and ‘Young female farmer Kim Mi-seon’s Jirisan wild vegetable 6-item gift set’ is 32,000 KRW.
During the holiday event period, customers who purchase food items worth 100,000 KRW, 150,000 KRW, 200,000 KRW, 300,000 KRW, 500,000 KRW, 1,000,000 KRW, or 10,000,000 KRW or more on Lotte.com will receive L.Point rewards of 5,000 points, 10,000 points, 15,000 points, 25,000 points, 50,000 points, 100,000 points, and 1,000,000 points respectively.
