Gwangju Gwangsan Fire Station Urges Strict Adherence to Winter Supplies Safety Rules
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Gwangsan Fire Station (Chief Moon Gisik) has actively started promoting the three major winter product safety rules.
According to Gwangsan Fire Station on the 6th, the winter product safety rules are intended to reduce the risk of fires that can occur due to careless handling of heating devices during winter.
Recently, as temperatures have dropped sharply, the use of wood boilers, electric heaters, electric mats, and electric heating wires has increased.
Wood boilers should be installed in a separate room partitioned with non-combustible materials, and combustible materials such as firewood should be stored at least 2 meters away from the boiler body.
For electric heaters, first check if the product is safety certified, and after using it for one or two hours, turn it off for about 10 minutes.
Electric mats should not be stepped on or subjected to impact, and should not be folded or crumpled during use.
For electric heating wires, use products equipped with overheating protection devices and temperature control sensors, and frequently check the condition of the wire insulation.
