According to Yonhap News TV on the 6th, on the 25th of last month, two middle school students were surrounded and assaulted by five high school students, resulting in broken nasal bones among the victims.
The Yangpyeong Police Station in Gyeonggi Province stated that two of the perpetrating students who led the assault have been booked on charges of joint injury, and the involvement of the other students is under investigation.
The perpetrators reportedly assaulted the victims for about an hour, starting from a karaoke room located 200 meters from the police station to an open space behind it.
Closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage released shows a high school student wearing high heels kicking a middle school student. Even when the victim bowed their head and apologized, the perpetrator slapped their cheek and appeared to hit their own face as if trying to provoke mutual assault.
The motive for the crime is believed to be related to communication between the perpetrator’s boyfriend and the victim.

An eyewitness stated, "I thought the small kid was going to die, so I reported it," adding, "If it were just a joke or an argument, it would be different, but they kept hitting."
