POSCO Opens Corporate Citizenship Website... Call for Ideas on 1% Salary Sharing Project
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] POSCO has launched a Corporate Citizen website to help the general public easily understand and engage with its management philosophy of 'Corporate Citizen.'
The Corporate Citizen website consists of sections such as ‘Introduction to Corporate Citizen,’ ‘CEO Corner,’ ‘Corporate Citizen News,’ ‘Corporate Citizen Report,’ and ‘Corporate Citizen Love Letter,’ a communication channel for proposing and discovering various internal and external opinions and ideas. The Corporate Citizen website can also be accessed through the POSCO homepage.
In the ‘Introduction to Corporate Citizen’ section, the concept and system of Corporate Citizen, the Corporate Citizen Charter, and the direction of POSCO’s six representative Corporate Citizen projects are introduced to facilitate easy understanding of the management philosophy.
The ‘CEO Corner’ contains messages and external speeches from Chairman Choi Jeong-woo, while ‘Corporate Citizen News’ showcases POSCO Group’s Corporate Citizen activities through photos and videos, introduces global Corporate Citizen trends by featuring excellent cases from domestic and international companies, and includes contributions from Corporate Citizen experts.
In the ‘Corporate Citizen Report’ section, visitors can view Corporate Citizen reports that detail POSCO’s sustainable achievements in economic, environmental, and social areas related to its major management activities.
POSCO stated, “This year marks the third year since declaring the Corporate Citizen management philosophy, and we will actively communicate through the website to expand Corporate Citizen beyond the corporate level into a social innovation movement that creates a better society.”
Meanwhile, the POSCO 1% Sharing Foundation (Chairman Choi Jeong-woo) is conducting a business idea contest until the 27th of this month to discover additional projects through open external collaboration.
Both organizations and individuals can apply. The prizes are 2 million KRW for one grand prize winner, 1 million KRW each for four excellence award winners, and 500,000 KRW each for six encouragement award winners. To apply, visit the POSCO 1% Sharing Foundation website, download the contest form, complete it, and submit it via email.
The application fields include support projects for children, youth, multicultural families, and people with disabilities, cultural and artistic projects for marginalized groups, and meaningful projects that help solve social issues including those in Pohang and Gwangyang.
