Eco-friendly Policies to Improve Fine Dust... Blue House Tour Buses Also to Be Replaced with Eco-friendly Buses
[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] On the 5th, the Blue House announced, "Starting from 2020, we plan to support power supply facilities for broadcast relay to reduce fine dust, noise, and other issues caused by diesel generator vehicles used by broadcasting companies during Blue House broadcast relay."
According to the Blue House, this measure is expected to reduce air pollutants generated by diesel generator vehicles, including 6 kg of fine dust (annually), 135 kg of sulfur oxides, 212 kg of nitrogen oxides, and 1 ton of carbon dioxide. The calculation was based on operating a 300 kW mobile diesel generator for 4 hours per month.
Residents nearby had been experiencing discomfort due to noise pollution close to 70 dB (equivalent to a telephone ring) generated by the operation of diesel generators, but it is expected that noise will decrease to below 50 dB (quiet office level) with the improvement of the power supply method.
