Hong Joon-pyo "Form an integrated emergency committee... No one will come under Hwang Kyo-ahn"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Hong Joon-pyo, former leader of the Liberty Korea Party, criticized Hwang Kyo-ahn, the current leader of the Liberty Korea Party, who proposed the idea of running in a difficult electoral district, saying, "What kind of great sacrifice is that?"
On the 4th, former leader Hong posted on his Facebook, "It is only natural for someone who has been in the party for less than a year to declare candidacy in a difficult district, so why are you dragging others into it as if it is a great sacrifice?" targeting Hwang's Facebook post. On the same day, Hwang had asked party members to join him by saying, "Ahead of the general election, I am going to an even more difficult district than a tough one."
In response, former leader Hong said, "Declaring conservative unity again as a crisis avoidance measure and talking about running in difficult districts to buy time, thinking that if we just get through January somehow, we can keep our positions, could lead to the entire conservative right-wing group, one of the two pillars of Korean society, being destroyed." He pointed out, "As declared two months ago, everyone should step down and form a unified emergency committee."

Former leader Hong added, "No one will come under Leader Hwang. This is not a bureaucratic group of command and obedience but a political group based on empathy and horizontal human relationships," and urged Hwang to make a decision on transitioning to an emergency committee system, saying, "The later it gets delayed, the deeper we sink into the quagmire. Now is the time to decide."
