[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] December of last year showed mild weather and recorded the least snowfall ever.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 5th, the snowfall in December last year was 0.3 cm, marking the lowest since observations began in 1973.
The KMA analyzed, "Precipitation occurred frequently, but due to higher temperatures, it mostly rained rather than snowed," adding, "Temperatures around Korea were higher than average, and the Siberian High pressure weakened, reducing the formation of snow clouds."
The national average temperature was 2.8°C, ranking 8th highest on record.
