Seoul City Appoints Lawyer Park Ae-ran as Citizen Audit Ombudsman
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 5th that it has appointed attorney Park Aeran as a member of the Citizen Audit Ombudsman Committee.
Newly appointed member Park Aeran has worked as a public interest attorney, handling various lawsuits, investigations, and research tasks. She is a legal expert who has served as a lawyer supporting persons with disabilities at the Korean Bar Association and as a member of the Special Committee for Resolving Asbestos and Waste Issues in Gangjeong-ri, Cheongyang.

The Citizen Audit Ombudsman monitors city administration from the citizens' perspective and protects citizens' rights and interests. Established in February 2016 as the first of its kind nationwide, it currently operates with six Citizen Audit Ombudsman members and over 30 investigators who maintain independence in their duties.
