Korean Publishers Association New Year's Gathering "Must Join Forces to Solve Various Issues"
On the 3rd, the Korea Publishing Culture Association held a New Year's greeting event for publishers at the Publishing Association Auditorium in Jongno-gu, Seoul. In his greeting, Chairman Yoon Cheol-ho emphasized, "Several pressing issues such as copyright policy, reading promotion policy, and commercial publishing by public institutions have not been resolved," and added, "Publishers must respect each other and unite their efforts to solve these problems." In his congratulatory speech, Park Yang-woo, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said, "We will work together with the publishing industry to address various current issues and create an environment where readers can get closer to books, making this year one of practical promotion of the publishing industry." Attendees at the greeting event included Kim Soo-young, President of the Korea Publication Industry Promotion Agency; Lee Ki-woong, Chairman of the International Urban Culture Exchange Association; Kim Hak-won, Chairman of the Publishers' Association; Kim Jin-hwan, Chairman of the Korean Academic Publishing Association; Nam Young-jun, Chairman of the Korean Library Association; and Kwon Hyuk-jae, Chairman of the Korea Publishing Cooperative, who exchanged New Year's greetings.
