Lotte Chilsung Launches Two Wolf Blass Gold Label Wines to Celebrate Year of the White Rat
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] Lotte Chilsung announced on the 3rd that it will release two limited edition wines, ‘Wolf Blass Gold Label,’ to commemorate the Year of the White Rat in the Gyeongja (庚子) year.
The two limited edition ‘Wolf Blass Gold Label’ wines were jointly planned by Lotte Chilsung and ‘Wolf Blass,’ one of Australia’s representative wineries, to celebrate the Year of the White Rat. The product labels feature the animal symbolizing the Gyeongja year, the ‘rat,’ and the golden color representing the ‘Wolf Blass Gold Label.’
The two ‘Wolf Blass Gold Label’ wines are made from Australian Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz varieties, respectively. Both products have an alcohol content of 14.5%, and the retail price at department stores is 50,000 KRW.
Both wines are red wines characterized by complex fruity aromas and a subtle tannin richness that spreads gently in the mouth. They pair especially well with meat dishes such as steak and bulgogi. Limited to about 7,700 bottles, they are available at major department stores and discount stores nationwide.
A Lotte Chilsung official said, “Following last year, we are introducing two limited edition ‘Wolf Blass Gold Label’ wines to symbolize the Year of the White Rat in 2020,” adding, “We especially recommend them as New Year commemorative gifts or Lunar New Year gifts for acquaintances.”
