[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Je-hoon] Bloomberg reported on the 1st (local time) that former Prime Minister Umaro Sissoco Embal? (47), leader of the opposition 'Madem G15', won the runoff presidential election held on December 29 last year in Guinea-Bissau, West Africa.
According to Jos? Pedro Samb?, chairman of the Guinea-Bissau Electoral Commission, former Embal? recorded 54% of the vote, ahead of the ruling party candidate Domingos Sim?es Pereira (46%), of the African Party for the Independence of Guinea and Cape Verde.
