Active Professional Baseball Player Booked on Charges of Assaulting a Citizen
[Asia Economy Reporter Donghoon Jeong] An active professional baseball player has been booked by the police for assaulting a citizen.
On the 2nd, the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul announced that they had booked LG Twins player A (26) on charges of assault.
According to the police, A is accused of hitting the face of victim B near an apartment in Ichon-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, at around 1:40 a.m. on the 29th of last month. B reported to the police that he was assaulted while trying to stop a man who was arguing with a woman.
The responding police took A to the police substation for voluntary accompaniment, secured witness statements, and are currently investigating. The police plan to summon A again as a suspect for further investigation.
