On the 2nd, the Wonmi Police Station in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, announced that A (35) was booked on charges of injury for assaulting a woman in her 70s.
A is accused of assaulting B (78), who was collecting scrap paper, at an apartment in Simgok-dong, Bucheon-si, Gyeonggi Province, around 10 p.m. on the previous day (the 1st).
A was arrested at the scene by police who responded to a resident's report.
Currently, B is receiving treatment at a hospital for serious injuries, including fractures to the nasal bone and eye socket.
According to the police investigation, B stated, "A suddenly hit my head, and when I protested, he assaulted me indiscriminately."
A reportedly stated, "I don't remember (because I was drunk)."
