Not only washing dishes, cleaning, and doing laundry, but even having conversations with you-
'Robot Auntie' is becoming a reality.
The 'human-like robots' once seen only in science fiction
are expected to knock on the doors of real homes starting next year.

1X Technologies, an AI robotics company based in California, USA,
has announced the upcoming launch of its home-use humanoid robot 'Neo'.
It will officially launch in the US market in early 2026, and pre-orders have started this week.
You can reserve one by paying a deposit of
200달러 on the website,
and you can choose between a subscription plan at
월 499달러 per month or a one-time payment of
2만 달러.
Bernt Bornich, CEO of 1X, stated, "The era when humanoids were just a symbol of science fiction is over,"
"Now, it's time for them to become part of everyday life as real products."

Neo is shaped like a human, with a face, arms, and legs.
Its hands are waterproof, so it can easily handle washing dishes and laundry,
and it can perform everyday tasks such as opening doors, turning off lights, and bringing items.
Users can check Neo's status via an app
and schedule household chores at their preferred times.

You can choose from three color models: light brown, gray, and dark brown.
Its structure allows for expanding features with each update,
so the company describes it as "using a robot that gets smarter over time in exchange for a monthly subscription fee."

Neo is not just another home appliance.
This feature allows it to simultaneously recognize audio and visual information to understand situations,
so it is designed to listen to people, recognize facial expressions or objects, and respond immediately.
it can instantly learn and perform unfamiliar tasks.
For example, if you connect a new vacuum cleaner or electronic device,
a 1X expert can remotely 'train' the robot so it can use it right away.
Expectations and concerns about 'Robot Auntie'

There is already heated debate overseas.
"Looking forward to full autonomous mode,"
"This is truly a revolution in housework," some say,
but others express concerns like, "What if it malfunctions?"
"It would be scary if a human-like robot moved around at night."
Such concerns are not uncommon.
As the era of 'AI replacing human domains' draws near,
expectations and anxieties coexist.
Robots that take over household chores certainly increase efficiency
but they also leave new challenges behind.
Convenience is closely linked to issues of cost and control.
As robotic technology becomes a reality, its impact must be carefully examined.
