Arrest warrant issued on the night of the 12th... First former presidential couple to be detained simultaneously
On the night of the previous day, an arrest warrant was issued for Mrs. Kim, marking the first time in constitutional history that a former presidential couple, including former President Yoon Sukyeol, have been detained at the same time. Former President Yoon has been held at Seoul Detention Center since July 10 after being arrested by the special investigation team for the insurrection case.

The special audit team led by Min Jungki plans to accelerate its investigation into more than ten charges brought against Mrs. Kim, aiming to fully uncover the allegations of government corruption. In her final statement in court the previous day, Mrs. Kim said, "I am distressed that even issues from before my marriage are still being brought up," and appealed to the judge, saying, "I ask for your fair judgment."
