According to a recent survey, SK hynix has ranked first for the first time as the company that university students most want to work for this year.
This marks a remarkable jump of eight places compared to last year. The fact that SK hynix has overtaken Samsung Electronics, which had maintained the top spot, is drawing significant attention.
What makes SK hynix attractive to university students? The most common reason, by far, is "satisfactory salary and compensation system."
SK hynix achieved its highest-ever quarterly performance in the first half of this year and drew attention by awarding all employees a productivity incentive (PI) equivalent to 150% of their base salary. The company is particularly favored by engineering and electronics majors, as well as male job seekers.
CJ ENM rises to second place as a 'welfare powerhouse'... Samsung Electronics drops to third
In the 2025 ranking of "the most desired companies to work for" among university students, CJ ENM surged to second place with 6.7%, showing a significant upward trend.
The most frequently cited reason for this choice was 'excellent employee benefits (41.8%)', and it was especially popular among women and students majoring in humanities, social sciences, and business.
Samsung Electronics, which had held the top spot for two consecutive years, dropped to third place this year with 5.4% of the votes.
Employment trend keyword of the year: "Compensation"
One notable finding from this survey is that university students' employment criteria are shifting from "welfare" to "clear compensation."
In the midst of economic uncertainty, companies that offer clear salaries and incentives are receiving higher preference.
Lee Myungji, head of brand communication at Incruit, stated, "The trend of prioritizing salary and compensation systems has become even more pronounced this year, leading to changes in the rankings of top companies. Based on this year's results, companies should emphasize clear compensation and a leading corporate image when establishing their recruitment branding strategies."
