As dining-out prices continue to soar day by day, putting increasing pressure on household budgets, a restaurant selling a bowl of Jjajangmyeon for just 1,000 won has appeared, drawing significant attention. Online users expressed their astonishment, saying, "It's a price that's hard to believe even after seeing it."

On July 7, reviews of a Chinese restaurant in Daegu, which opened on July 1, have been continuously posted on various online communities and social networking services (SNS). This restaurant, known for its "ultra-low prices," quickly gained word-of-mouth popularity and is now receiving explosive attention online.

Located in the underground shopping mall near Banwoldang Station, a transfer station for Daegu Subway Lines 1·2, the restaurant sells a bowl of Jjajangmyeon for 1,000 won, fried dumplings for 2,000 won, and a small portion of sweet and sour pork for 5,000 won. A large serving of Jjajangmyeon costs 2,000 won, and an extra-large serving is 3,000 won. Eight pieces of fried dumplings are served for 2,000 won.

YouTuber Shanipapa, who visited the restaurant on its opening day, said, "I couldn't believe it even after seeing it with my own eyes," and added, "All the restaurants introduced as 'the cheapest Chinese restaurants' on YouTube and other SNS need to update their information." He went on to say, "Even instant Jjajang ramen costs more than 1,000 won these days, but if I had to describe the taste of this 1,000-won Jjajangmyeon, it's delicious." He also commented, "The large serving is really generous in portion. The flavor isn't overly strong, so even elderly people can enjoy it comfortably," and added, "It's amazing how both local seniors and students somehow found out and came."

As the video went viral, the restaurant owner personally shared his thoughts in the comments. He said, "I've been selling it for 1,000 won for the past 20 years. I'm not just a merchant, I'm a businessman," and added, "Without any big ambitions, I'll just keep working hard. Thank you for your support." It is known that the owner also appeared on TV nine years ago for his "1,000-won Jjajangmyeon." At that time, he left a deep impression on viewers by saying, "As long as customers keep coming and I am able, I will maintain this price for as long as possible." However, you can't always get the 1,000-won Jjajangmyeon just by dropping by at any time. The restaurant operates only until ingredients run out, opening at 10 a.m. and usually closing for the day around 1 p.m.
