On July 1, Woowa Brothers, the operator of Baemin, identified 'Taco Remix', 'One Bowl for Everyone', and 'Nationwide Local' as the key dining industry trend keywords for the second quarter.


The first keyword, 'Taco Remix', highlights the recent surge in consumer popularity for tacos. According to data analyzed by Baemin, as of April this year, there were about 21,000 restaurants selling tacos, an increase of approximately 20% compared to two years ago. The number of taco orders also rose significantly, from about 80,000 in 2022 to 145,000 last year.

Tacos have consistently been loved for their exotic flavors and the simplicity with which they can be enjoyed compared to other dishes. Recently, combinations with diverse dishes such as grilled meat, kimchi pancakes, and braised chicken have become popular among MZ generation (Millennials and Generation Z) consumers. A Baemin representative stated, "Tacos featuring guacamole, salsa sauce, and other ingredients align with the health trend, so we expect their popularity to continue."


'One Bowl for Everyone' is a keyword that diagnoses the growing importance of single-portion and small-amount menu options for restaurant management, as solo dining becomes commonplace in the domestic dining market. According to Baemin's own research, due to the increase in single-person households and the growth of the delivery market, the proportion of consumers responding positively to solo dining on social networking services (SNS) surged from 56% in 2014 to 83% in 2025. In response, Baemin is actively leveraging this trend by offering the 'One Bowl' service, which allows customers to order single-portion menus without a minimum order amount in major regions nationwide, including the Seoul metropolitan area.

'Nationwide Local' is a keyword that shows the continued increase in consumer interest in regional foods and ingredients. At Baemin, as of the first quarter of this year, there were about 200,000 restaurants selling so-called 'local keyword menus', which feature regional names in their titles, such as 'Busan-style Pork Boiled Meat Soup Rice', 'Jeju Green Tangerine Ade', and 'Gwangju-style Duck Soup'. A Baemin representative commented, "There is a growing trend of not only using local ingredients, but also incorporating hidden local stories into menus and comprehensively utilizing regional content."
