What did Rep. Kwon say to President Lee?

Rep. Kwon Sung Dong of the People Power Party explained on the 26th that after President Lee Jae Myung's policy speech, he expressed his opposition to the appointment of Kim Min Seok as prime minister. President Lee was seen lightly tapping Kwon's arm while greeting him after the speech, which drew public curiosity.

After the plenary session, Kwon told reporters, "I told the President twice that the prime minister appointment should not go ahead, and he replied that he understood, then tapped my arm and walked away."

Earlier, after completing his policy speech, President Lee went over to the opposition lawmakers' seats to greet them and shake hands. In particular, President Lee showed a warm reaction upon seeing Kwon, who is known to have studied for the bar exam with him as university classmates. While shaking hands and conversing, President Lee was seen giving Kwon a light tap on the arm.

In addition, it is reported that other lawmakers from the People Power Party repeatedly expressed their opinions to President Lee, urging him to reconsider the appointment of Kim Min Seok as prime minister, following the confirmation hearing that concluded the previous day.

During his policy speech, President Lee also emphasized his willingness to cooperate, directing his attention toward the opposition lawmakers. While presenting the budget details, he said to the opposition, "If there are any items not included in the government's supplementary budget proposal, please raise them during the National Assembly's review process," adding, "While I will focus on budget cuts, if there are necessary items, please let me know."
