15 out of the top 32 apartment complexes with fraudulent applications are concentrated in the Seoul metropolitan area
It has been revealed that there were numerous cases of "false address registration," where applicants moved their registered address to homes they did not actually reside in, in order to win the lottery for popular apartment complexes in Seoul's Gangnam area.
According to data received by Park Yonggap, a member of the National Assembly's Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport on May 19, 15 out of the top 32 apartment complexes with the highest number of detected fraudulent applications in the second half of last year were located in the Seoul metropolitan area, including 6 in Seoul (4 in the three Gangnam districts, 1 in Mapo-gu, and 1 in Seongbuk-gu).
A total of 41 cases of false address registration were detected in the 'Raemian Onepentas' complex (292 units for general sale) in Seocho-gu, Seoul. At the time of the winner announcement in August last year, all the exclusive 84㎡ Type A, 107㎡ Type A, and 155㎡ floor plans had the highest winning scores. Getty Images

At the 'Raemian Onepentas' complex in Seocho-gu, Seoul (292 units for general sale), a total of 41 cases of false address registration were detected. At the time of the winner announcement in August last year, all the exclusive 84㎡ Type A, 107㎡ Type A, and 155㎡ floor plans had the highest possible winning scores. Such figures are rarely seen in a normal market. Except for one 137㎡ Type B floor plan with a minimum score of 69, most minimum scores were over 70. 'Raemian Onepentas' is a reconstruction project of the Sinbanpo 15th complex, and with the sales price ceiling system applied, the general sale price was evaluated to be about 2 billion KRW lower than the market price. However, those who only registered their address in Gangnam, without actually living there, took the opportunity to win the lottery.
Of 166 fraudulent applications in six major Seoul complexes, 165 were false address registrations... 1 was a sham marriage
At 'The H Bangbae,' another complex in Seocho-gu, all 46 detected cases were false address registrations. This complex also benefited from the sales price ceiling, making its price significantly more attractive compared to the market. At 'Jamsil Raemian I-Park' in Songpa-gu, 34 out of 35 cases were identified as false address registrations. The remaining case involved a person who entered into a sham marriage to increase their application score and then divorced afterward.
Meanwhile, during the same period, in regional cities such as Changwon, Cheonan, Daegu, and Busan, other types of fraudulent application methods, such as bankbook trading and illegal supply, were intensively detected.
