This is a product listing posted on a secondhand trading platform after former President Yoon Suk Yeol was impeached. Presidential watches, which would have been quite rare during his term, are now being offered at much lower prices with freebies included. Since Yoon's impeachment, so-called 'Yoon Suk Yeol goods' have been flooding the secondhand market, and their prices have plummeted, creating an almost comical situation.

According to Junggonara on the 10th, the number of searches for the keyword 'Yoon Suk Yeol' on the platform surged by 165.35% on the 4th, the day the Constitutional Court delivered its impeachment verdict, compared to the previous day. In particular, the number of searches during the first week of April, when the verdict was announced, soared by as much as 3,250% compared to the entire month of March. 'Yoon Suk Yeol' became the most searched term on Junggonara since March. This data is based on an analysis of Junggonara activity during the impeachment verdict week (March 31 to April 6).

So-called 'Yoon Seokyeol goods,' including the 'Yoon Seokyeol watch,' are being traded on major secondhand transaction platforms such as Junggonara and Bungaejangter.

The number of related product listings showed a similar trend. From last month until April 6, there were a total of 231 'Yoon Suk Yeol' related items listed on Junggonara, averaging 6.4 new listings per day. On the day of the verdict alone, the number of new listings doubled compared to the previous day, and during the first week of April, the number of listings was four times higher than the entire month of March.

The most traded item by far was the 'Yoon Suk Yeol watch.' In addition, books, stamps, first day covers, handkerchiefs, and Blue House commemorative gifts were also put up for sale. Prices dropped sharply. As of the verdict day, the average price of items with the 'Yoon Suk Yeol' keyword was 127,500 won, a 70% decrease compared to the peak average price of 429,800 won recorded on March 11. The lowest price in the past month was 88,500 won, recorded on April 6, the weekend after the impeachment.

Similar trends were observed on other platforms. According to Bungaejangter, searches for the keyword 'Yoon Suk Yeol watch' spiked around the verdict date. From the day of the verdict through the weekend, the number of searches increased by 196% compared to March 31 to April 3, before the verdict. An industry insider explained, "After the impeachment verdict, interest in related keyword products surged rapidly, and both listings and trading demand are increasing together."

The transaction volume and market prices of presidential goods on secondhand platforms tend to fluctuate dramatically depending on the political situation. For example, after the declaration of martial law on December 3 last year, the price of the 'Yoon Suk Yeol watch' plummeted to the 50,000 to 60,000 won range, but soon soared to 200,000 to 300,000 won as his supporters rallied. An industry insider commented, "Secondhand trading platforms seem to be the space where public opinion and the public's view of the president are reflected most immediately and sensitively."

Lee Eunhee, a professor of consumer studies at Inha University, said, "Prior to the impeachment verdict, political tension was heightened and public attention was focused on related issues, but after the verdict, public interest quickly shifted back to daily life. In particular, the emotions that were temporarily heightened among some supporters turned into disappointment, and this sentiment has manifested as a drop in the prices of goods."
