88 Joint Memorial Altars to Be Operated Nationwide During National Mourning Period: 20 in 17 Cities and Provinces, 68 Set Up Autonomously by Local Governments

A total of 88 joint memorial altars will be set up across the country to honor the victims of the Jeju Air passenger plane disaster.
According to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety on the 30th, 17 cities and provinces nationwide will operate joint memorial altars at 20 locations, including local government buildings and public squares. In addition, 68 joint memorial altars will be set up and operated autonomously in 66 cities, counties, and districts.
In Jeonnam, where the accident occurred, memorial altars will be installed at three locations: in front of Gate 2 on the first floor of Muan International Airport, at the Muan Sports Park Indoor Gymnasium, and at the Meeting Square of the Jeonnam Provincial Government Building. In Jeonbuk, a memorial altar will be set up on the first floor of the performance hall at the Jeonbuk Provincial Government Building, and in Gwangju, at the May 18 Democracy Square.
Memorial altars will also be installed in front of the main entrance of Seoul City Hall, at Aetteul Square in front of Incheon City Hall, in the Citizens' Hall of Ulsan City Hall, at the Ahn Byunggeun Olympic Memorial Judo Center in Dalseo-gu, Daegu, outside the west wing of the main building of Sejong City Hall, and in the main conference room of the Jeju Provincial Council, among others.
Most memorial altars will be operated until January 4 next year, which is the end of the national mourning period. In Jeonnam, Sejong, and Gwangju, the operating period has not been separately determined and will continue until further notice.
