Fair Trade Commission to Hold Disclosure Information Session for Record 102 Business Groups
Three-Day Session at Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry Starting May 11
Tailored Guidance for 11 Newly Designated Groups and Others
The Fair Trade Commission, in collaboration with the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, will hold an information session for executives and employees of companies belonging to the “2026 Public Disclosure Target Business Groups” over three days from May 11 to May 13, 2026. This session targets the record-high 102 business groups designated on April 30. Its purpose is to enhance understanding of disclosure obligations and prevent repeated legal violations.
The Fair Trade Commission will focus on explaining changes in disclosure obligations during this session, particularly for the 11 newly designated business groups this year and those groups whose “identical person” has been changed to an individual. When the “identical person” is an individual, both the individual and their relatives must disclose, once a year, the general and shareholder status as well as the status of internal transactions of overseas affiliates in which they hold a certain percentage of shares. In addition, it will be emphasized that, even if total assets are less than 10 billion won, companies will not be excluded from disclosure obligations if a high percentage of shares is held by related parties. Other practical points to note will also be addressed.
