Ilsan Jaseng Korean Medicine Hospital Holds "Love Kimchi Sharing" Event for Vulnerable Groups
Nutritional and Korean Medicine Benefits of Mul Kimchi
As early summer approaches and the summer kimchi-making season arrives, Jaseng Korean Medicine Hospital has put its commitment to community sharing into practice by personally preparing young radish kimchi and distributing it within the local community.
Ilsan Jaseng Korean Medicine Hospital announced on the 12th that it held the "2026 2nd Jaseng Love Summer Kimchi Sharing" event on the 11th. This event was organized to help improve the dietary habits and provide practical nutritional support to vulnerable groups, with a total of about 20 participants including the hospital’s medical staff and members of the Ilsan Jaseng Volunteer Group.

Together, they carefully prepared approximately 300 kilograms of young radish and radish kimchi. The participants meticulously cleaned and trimmed the radishes and young radishes, made seasoning with ingredients such as garlic and red pepper powder, and mixed them by hand. They also divided and packaged the kimchi into sanitary containers, approaching the sharing activity as if they were preparing food for their own families.
The summer kimchi prepared that day was delivered to the Munchon 9 Social Welfare Center in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province. The welfare center then distributed the kimchi to 50 local households, including elderly people living alone and single-parent families. Since the summer season often brings both intense heat and financial hardship, leading to skipped meals or poor nutrition among vulnerable groups, this kimchi support is expected to provide practical assistance to the dietary lives of these families.
Ilsan Jaseng Korean Medicine Hospital continues to engage in a variety of social contribution activities together with the local community in addition to this kimchi-sharing initiative. In particular, this past April, the hospital conducted an environmental cleanup in the Gobongsan area of Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, marking its 13th consecutive year of such activities. The hospital plans to continue a wide range of sharing activities, including support for vulnerable groups and medical assistance in the region.
