This program is Sampyo Group’s flagship industry-academia cooperation model, which has been held regularly every year since 2024. This year, 52 third-year students from Hanyang University's Department of Architecture, including supervising professor Kim Jaekyung, participated and strengthened their professional capabilities as future architects.
To maximize students’ learning efficiency, Sampyo Industries divided all participants into three groups. Through a rotation system in which each group toured three sections—the research institute showroom, the mortar plant, and the ready-mixed concrete plant—students observed key technologies and production facilities for each process.
On that day, students listened to explanations about the latest construction material technologies and eco-friendly methods at the showroom in the research institute. They also directly observed the production lines where ready-mixed concrete and mortar are manufactured using large-scale facilities, gaining an understanding of the building material production processes that they had only learned in theory.
Kim Jaekyung, professor of architecture at Hanyang University, said, "Field-based experiences are the most powerful educational tool for broadening students’ perspectives and deepening their understanding of their major," and added, "I would like to express my gratitude to Sampyo Group for opening up valuable sites every year and providing students with opportunities to gain practical experience."
Building on the achievements of industry-academia cooperation since 2024, Sampyo Industries plans to establish a future-oriented education model where theory and practice coexist. By sharing the values of sustainable growth with future talent, the company aims to solidify a virtuous cycle of mutual growth between academia and industry.
