Blitzway Secures 5.2 Billion Won Investment in KLAP from Japan's Bandai... Accelerates Global Music IP Expansion
Blitzway Entertainment is accelerating the expansion of its global music IP business by securing a strategic investment in its subsidiary KLAP Entertainment from Japanese entertainment company Bandai.
On May 21, Blitzway announced that it had attracted a strategic investment of approximately 5.2 billion won from Bandai, a subsidiary of Bandai Namco Group, into its subsidiary KLAP Entertainment. Even after the investment, Blitzway will remain the largest shareholder of KLAP, maintaining a stable management structure.
Bandai Namco Group is a leading Japanese content company that operates a global entertainment business based on various IPs, including animation, games, music, and video. Recently, the group has actively pursued global expansion of its live event and music businesses, posting consolidated annual sales of 1.3482 trillion yen and operating profit of 189.5 billion yen for the fiscal year ending March 2026. In addition, the group announced a three-year strategic investment plan totaling approximately 150 billion yen starting from April this year.
This investment provides Blitzway with a new growth engine for its music business enhancement strategy, which has been in progress since acquiring KLAP last year. KLAP has operated global fandom-based projects such as Kep1er and VANNER, and with Bandai Namco Group’s overseas network, there are expectations for further expansion in album production and concert businesses.
In particular, the addition of Do Kyungsoo, a global K-POP artist and actor, is expected to further solidify Blitzway's strategy of integrating artist management and music business within a single structure.
The company is also continuously expanding its drama and film production businesses, drawing attention to the potential synergy between its in-house content production and music business. It is evaluated that Blitzway is strengthening a structure that connects OSTs, performances, and artist IPs within a single content value chain.
This collaboration is also drawing attention in terms of the MD (merchandising) business. Bandai operates a variety of businesses globally, including capsule toys (Gashapon), card games, toys, and figures, based on its animation and game IPs. Since Blitzway has long operated figure and high-end collectible businesses, there is growing potential for the expansion of artist and content IP-based merchandising businesses in the future.
Bae Seongwoong, Chairman of Blitzway and the driving force behind this investment, stated, "Beyond simple fundraising, it is significant that we have established a foundation for long-term collaboration with Bandai Namco, which has experience in global IP businesses and expertise in fandom-driven business models. This investment will serve as an important growth engine for our integrated artist and music IP strategy."
He added, "We plan to continue to strengthen our business competitiveness in the global market, focusing on content and artist IP."

Meanwhile, Blitzway Entertainment boasts a diverse lineup of actors, including Ju Jihoon, Chun Woohee, Woo Dohwan, Chae Jonghyeop, Jung Ryeowon, Moon Chaewon, and Kim Yerim. Industry insiders note that it is rare for an actor-centric management company to directly operate a music label and integrate the two businesses, viewing this investment as a case where Blitzway’s unique IP business model has been recognized for its competitiveness in the global market.
