Blind Launches 'Layoff Tracker' to Monitor Corporate Layoffs
Step-by-Step Updates from Official Announcements to Insider Early Warnings
On May 21, workplace social platform Blind announced the launch of its 'Layoff Tracker', which allows users to track global corporate layoff trends in real time. As large-scale layoffs that began in Silicon Valley continue to spread worldwide, the aim is to reduce the information gap and anxiety experienced by employees.
Blind's Layoff Tracker is a service that enables users to quickly check news of layoffs at tech companies around the world. Users can view the layoff status of companies in 18 countries—including Korea, the United States, and India—at a glance, filtered by country, company size, and time period. In particular, the platform provides step-by-step updates, not only through news reports and official announcements, but also by showing early warning signs shared by current employees on Blind.
The Blind Layoff Tracker can be accessed free of charge by anyone through Blind's official website, without the need for separate registration or login. It offers regional filters for 18 countries, including Korea, and allows users to easily search for updates on companies of interest by combining industry, company size, and time period conditions.
Meanwhile, according to Blind, since the wave of large-scale layoffs began in Silicon Valley in the fall of 2022, the number of Blind users from major tech companies—including Microsoft, Oracle, Amazon, and Google—has surged up to threefold compared to typical years. Before the layoffs, there were more than four times as many posts related to career success, such as salary increases and promotions, than those concerning job insecurity. However, this trend has since reversed, with posts about job insecurity now outnumbering career success posts by 1.5 times.
