Seocho District to Conduct Special Drone Inspections for Fine Dust at Construction Sites
Eliminating Blind Spots in Elevated Areas
Administrative Actions for Violations Detected
Seocho District in Seoul announced on May 21 that it will conduct a special inspection of workplaces generating fine dust using drones on May 22.
This inspection will target two workplaces generating fine dust located in the Bangbae-dong and Seocho-dong areas. The district selected the sites for inspection based on the scale of ongoing construction and the status of resident complaints. By utilizing drones, the district aims to quickly and precisely monitor areas inside construction sites and elevated locations that are difficult to check with the naked eye, thereby overcoming the limitations of conventional visual inspections.
The main inspection items include whether water spraying is being conducted inside the construction site, the operational status of washing facilities, management of soil and material storage, and the installation of dustproof covers—all measures to suppress fine dust. Minor violations found during the inspection will be addressed on-site immediately, while administrative actions such as fines will be imposed if more serious violations, including failure to implement fine dust suppression measures, are identified.
Following this special inspection, the district also plans to strengthen its field management system by having personnel responsible for climate and air quality management conduct frequent patrols of workplaces generating fine dust.
