To ensure greater safety for children, the playground has been placed at the foot of the mountain. The city improved accessibility and convenience by creating a main entrance connected to the Cheonmasan trail and an additional entrance utilizing the Neungan Stream riverside deck path.
Notably, this forest playground goes beyond simply installing play facilities; it is designed as an experiential space that harmonizes with the natural environment. The playground is expected to become a place in the city where children can get close to the forest and nature, enjoying physical activities and sensory play together.
Inside the playground, a variety of facilities have been installed, including a treehouse, net adventure equipment, basket swings, and mushroom tables. By introducing unique features rarely seen in traditional forest playgrounds, the city aims to provide children with new play experiences, while offering caregivers a space to relax in nature.
The development process actively incorporated input from citizens. The city held three public briefings to gather opinions from residents and daycare workers. In addition, the Korea Forest Kindergarten Association participated in the design and construction phases, enhancing the quality of the nature-friendly space to suit the needs of children.
Hanam City has also secured a special grant of 500 million won to promote the playground and expand additional facilities. Based on this, the city plans to expand the playground and build a children's restroom connected to the riverside park in the second half of this year.
