Expanding the Ready-to-Eat Meal Lineup
On May 21, convenience store chain Seven Eleven announced the launch of its new ready-to-eat meal, the "Sausage & Yakisoba Roll," a reinterpretation of the popular Japanese convenience store meal, yakisoba bread, tailored to suit Korean tastes.
Yakisoba bread originated in Tokyo in the 1950s and has since become a staple of Japanese pop culture and a representative value-for-money soul food. It is considered a must-try item at convenience stores during trips to Japan and enjoys high recognition among young people in Korea as well.
The newly introduced Sausage & Yakisoba Roll features savory and mildly salty yakisoba, crunchy cabbage, and mayonnaise, all packed inside a soft roll, allowing customers to experience authentic local flavors. To meet the needs of Korean consumers seeking a filling meal amid high prices, the product also includes Uiseong Garlic Frank Sausage, enhancing its completeness as a meal.
To commemorate the launch of this new product, a promotion will be held. Until the end of this month, customers who purchase the Sausage & Yakisoba Roll can buy a "Chilsung Cider Zero Can (250ml)" at a 50% discounted price.
Meanwhile, Seven Eleven recently launched its premium bakery brand "BBAKiT," targeting the trend of convenience store meal breads. With the slogan "Enjoying properly baked (Bake) bread deliciously (Eat)," BBAKiT uses premium ingredients such as Marken butter and Isigny butter to deliver quality on par with specialty shops. The current lineup includes eight products, such as salt bread, salt butter castella roll, and vanilla bean cream red bean bread.
