Visit to Daegu Agricultural and Fisheries Wholesale Market
Highlighting On-Site Economic Engagement
Choo Kyung-ho, the People Power Party candidate for Daegu Mayor, visited the Daegu Agricultural and Fishery Wholesale Market at dawn on May 21, the first official day of the election campaign, as part of his efforts to connect with ordinary citizens and engage with the local community.
Around 4:30 a.m. that morning, Choo visited the Daegu Agricultural and Fishery Wholesale Market in Maechon-dong, Buk-gu, Daegu, where he toured the fruit and vegetable section, meeting with vendors and auctioneers. He visited the watermelon, melon, and tomato auction areas in turn, listening to updates on crop conditions, price trends, and challenges faced at the distribution site.

At the watermelon auction area, he discussed recent crop yields and price trends with auctioneers, and also received explanations about the temporary auction site currently in use following a fire and the plans to relocate to newly completed facilities.
At the tomato auction area, there was also discussion about farmers’ difficulties in sourcing plastic materials. When one auctioneer said, "The supply of plastic is unstable, and prices have risen, so things are generally tough," Choo responded, "I am well aware of the serious issues farmers are facing with materials."
Choo remarked, "Thanks to all of you, citizens can enjoy fresh fruit," and promised, "I will do my utmost to support the modernization of facilities, increase investment, and help your businesses."
