Geochang County in Gyeongsangnam-do is focusing its administrative resources on strengthening systematic management and response by conducting on-site inspections for the maintenance of illegal facilities around rivers and valleys.
On May 20, the county announced that Kim Hyunmi, Acting County Governor, presided over an on-site inspection of major rivers and valleys targeted for the removal of illegal facilities.
This inspection was organized as part of an intensive maintenance effort against illegal occupation facilities in rivers and valleys ahead of the summer season, aiming to assess the current situation on-site and to examine issues and areas for improvement identified during the maintenance process.

In particular, the county plans to continue ongoing guidance and maintenance activities targeting illegal occupation facilities such as unauthorized platforms, decks, tents, and piled-up materials in rivers and valleys.
Kim Hyunmi stated, "We will strengthen on-site maintenance to ensure that residents and tourists can use rivers and valleys safely and comfortably," adding, "We will further reinforce the cooperation system between relevant departments and actively encourage voluntary removal through advance notification and public awareness campaigns."
