Gurye Seomjin River Otter Ecological Park Draws Crowds of Children to "Little Jungle" Exhibition
Over 500 Visitors on Opening Day of Ecological Experience Exhibition
Nature-Friendly Programs Foster Ecological Sensitivity
The special ecological education exhibition, "Little Jungle," currently being held at the Seomjin River Otter Ecological Park in Gurye County, has been attracting a stream of children from nearby areas, resulting in a highly successful turnout.
The "Little Jungle" special exhibition began on May 19 and will run for seven days until May 25, taking place throughout the Seomjin River Otter Ecological Park. The event operates daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

View original imageInside the exhibition hall, there is a special display where children can observe a variety of creatures—including insects, reptiles, arthropods, and amphibians—up close. Additionally, a docent program led by a professional guide helps enhance children's understanding through detailed explanations.
In the outdoor area, nature-friendly experiential programs such as a rope playground, forest and camping experiences, traditional games from around the world, and a woodworking playground are offered. These activities allow children to freely play and engage in physical activities in nature, fostering their ecological sensitivity and creativity.
On the first day of the event, May 19, about 500 participants—including kindergarten and daycare children and their teachers from Gurye, Suncheon, Gwangyang, Gokseong, and Damyang—visited to enjoy various ecological experience programs throughout the park. Family visitors also continued to arrive, and the participatory, child-centered ecological and cultural content has garnered significant attention.
