The flagship 32-inch Odyssey G8 (G80HS) is the first gaming monitor to support 6K resolution, offering overwhelming picture quality and immersion. Notably, it features a “dual mode” function that allows users to switch settings to suit their environment, providing optimal gaming experiences across various genres. The 6K·165Hz ultra-high-resolution mode is optimized for action games where graphic detail is crucial, while the 3K·330Hz ultra-high refresh rate mode is suited for first-person shooters (FPS) or racing games where refresh rate is essential.
The newly released 27-inch Odyssey G8 (G80HF) supports a 5K (5120×2880) resolution with a native 180Hz refresh rate. Through dual mode, the refresh rate can be boosted up to 360Hz at QHD (2560×1440) resolution, enabling smooth gameplay even in fast-paced games that require rapid screen transitions.
Both the 32-inch and 27-inch models support DisplayPort 2.1, have received NVIDIA G-SYNC™ Compatible certification, and support AMD FreeSync™ Premium for smooth gameplay of high-end titles without screen tearing. In addition, the “HDR10+ GAMING” technology analyzes game scenes and frames to provide lifelike and immersive HDR picture quality.
To further target the premium market, Samsung Electronics is also introducing an enhanced OLED lineup. The “Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SH)” is available in 27-inch and 32-inch models, supporting 4K (3840×2160) resolution and up to a 240Hz refresh rate. The “Glare Free” technology reduces light reflection to enhance immersion, while DisplayPort 2.1 and 98W USB-C charging improve connectivity and convenience. Notably, the “QD-OLED Penta Tandem” technology, which significantly improves panel energy efficiency, lifespan, and brightness, is being applied for the first time.
Additionally, the 32-inch “Odyssey OLED G7 (G73SH)” 4K OLED model supports a maximum refresh rate of 165Hz and features a dual mode that allows users to select a high refresh rate mode (FHD ?330Hz).
Lee Heon, Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, stated, “These new products set a new standard for the monitor market with ultra-high-resolution technology, including 6K, and OLED innovation. We will continue to strengthen our global competitiveness in the monitor market with the Odyssey lineup.”
To commemorate the launch, Samsung Electronics is offering various promotional benefits through domestic online and offline channels from today until May 31. Customers who purchase the new products during the event will receive a three-month subscription to “Xbox Game Pass Ultimate,” and those who use Samsung Electronics’ subscription service “AI Subscription Club” can enjoy up to six months of access. In addition, customers who purchase Harman gaming earphones together can receive up to a 50% discount on the earphones. Experience zones for the 2026 Odyssey G8 will be set up at “Maple Ajit” in Gangnam and “T1 Base Camp” in Mapo.
