From Follow-Up Gathering to Romance
Small Wedding at Doltteul Garden on the 23rd
A "first couple" has emerged after meeting through "Solomon's Choice," a matchmaking event for young singles in Seongnam City, Gyeonggi Province, and holding their wedding at a public wedding venue (Seongnam Solomon Wedding Garden).

The two attended different sessions of Solomon's Choice: one participated in the 3rd session held in September 2023, while the other attended the 11th session in October 2024. Although they were not matched at the time, they grew closer through subsequent gatherings for participants and eventually became a couple.
They have decided to hold a small wedding with about 100 guests at Doltteul Garden, one of three public wedding venues operated by Seongnam City.
In order to ease the financial burden on engaged couples, the city designated and has been operating three public wedding venues since October last year: City Hall Park, Doltteul Garden at the Saemaeul Undong Central Training Institute, and Sky Plaza at Seongnam Mulbit Garden.
Seongnam City's public wedding venues are available for use if at least one of the engaged couple or their parents is a resident of Seongnam.
According to Seongnam City's standard price list for public wedding venues, the cost for a wedding with 100 guests—including venue rental, floral decorations, meals, and "studio, dress, and makeup" (S·D·M) services—is 11.6 million won for the economy package, 12.6 million won for the basic package, and 15.5 million won for the premium package.
If the engaged couple wishes, they may add optional services beyond the standard packages.
The venue rental fee is free for City Hall Park and Sky Plaza at Seongnam Mulbit Garden, while Doltteul Garden costs 313,500 won.
Doltteul Garden hosted its first wedding on April 11, and the upcoming weddings on May 23 (the fifth) and May 24 (the sixth) are already scheduled.
Solomon's Choice events will also take place five more times (the 25th to 29th sessions) in the second half of this year.

A Seongnam City official said, "Over the past four years, 16 couples have married and 9 couples are engaged to be married through Solomon's Choice. This upcoming wedding is especially meaningful as it marks the first case where 'Solomon's Choice' and the 'Solomon Wedding Garden' (Seongnam City's public wedding venue) have come together to bear fruit."
