Kangwon Land Selected as Top Institution in 2026 Board of Audit and Inspection Self-Audit Evaluation
Achieving Grade A for Four Consecutive Years
by Focusing on Prevention and IT Audits
Rather Than Detection and Punishment
The Kangwon Land Audit Committee (Standing Audit Committee Member Ahn Gwangbok) announced on the 19th that Kangwon Land had been selected as the top-performing institution in the Board of Audit and Inspection’s 2026 self-audit activity evaluation (based on 2025 performance), ranking second out of 31 public enterprises and achieving the highest possible rating of Grade A for the fourth consecutive year.
The Board of Audit and Inspection’s evaluation is conducted to enhance the adequacy of public institutions’ internal audit operations and to strengthen their internal control systems. The evaluation covers factors such as auditors’ expertise, audit planning and execution capabilities, the quality of audit reports, and efforts to reinforce internal controls.
In this evaluation, Kangwon Land received higher scores than other institutions particularly for the quality of its audit reports and its efforts to strengthen internal controls. According to Kangwon Land, this result is attributed to shifting away from the conventional focus on increasing the number of detected cases, and instead concentrating on strengthening preventive functions through IT-based real-time monitoring, transitioning to consulting-oriented audits, and enhancing internal control governance and collaborative systems.

Standing Audit Committee Member Ahn Gwangbok stated, "Achieving a Grade A rating for four consecutive years is not merely a matter of how many people were detected, but rather a recognition both internally and externally of how much we have advanced our internal control systems and strengthened preventive functions. Going forward, we will continue to lead the AI-driven transformation of public institution audits by utilizing the sovereign AI audit system KLAS (Kangwonland LLM Audit System), which we developed in-house by the end of 2025."
