Choi Sangki, candidate for Inje County Governor from the Democratic Party of Korea, has announced a set of "daily life pledges" featuring policies directly impacting the lives of county residents, as part of his campaign to win public support. These pledges include a wide range of practical policies, from reducing library closure days and making all bus services completely free, to promoting a hospital for joint use by county residents.

This is his second policy announcement, following his main pledges announced on May 12, which focused on future visions such as the development of KTX, a compact city, and a garden city.
Choi stated, "If the main pledges are about transforming the overall framework of Inje, the daily life pledges announced today are about strengthening the everyday lives of county residents," emphasizing, "Both the big picture and everyday improvements must go hand in hand to bring change to Inje."
This set of pledges is structured around three key areas: policies to ensure proper utilization of existing facilities, policies for virtuous cycles in the local economy, and policies to expand daily conveniences for residents and military families.
First, in the fields of culture and sports, Choi proposed normalizing the operation of libraries and sports and culture centers. The six libraries in Inje-eup and its towns and villages, including the Miracle Library in Inje-eup, will be restructured to close only once a month and on the day of national holidays. For sports and culture centers, the plan is to sequentially open facilities by securing legally required staffing, such as swimming pool safety personnel and sports instructors.
Choi also pledged to complete the "One Park Golf Course per Town and Village" initiative within his term. This includes the three currently operating locations in Wontong, Inje, and Naerincheon, as well as ongoing projects at Bupyeong-ri Bing-eoho and Hangye 3-ri, and planned sites in Sangnam 4-ri, Cheondo-ri, Buk-myeon Neupdunji, and Yongdae-ri, targeting a total of nine park golf courses.
For revitalizing the local economy, the "Sunlight Income Project" is a core pledge. This project involves installing solar power facilities on county-owned land, idle military sites, and village vacant lots, with the profits to be redirected toward resident welfare. The operating method will be decided through resident input, choosing between a village cooperative support model and a resident stock participation model.
There are also measures to support small business owners. The county will subsidize up to 80% of the purchase cost of dishwashers for food service establishments, with a maximum of 5 million won per business. In addition, the agricultural subsidy for farmers will be increased from the current 700,000 won to 1.2 million won. The range of crops eligible for drone-supported pesticide and fertilizer application will be expanded, as will the list of farming supplies available at half price.
Other initiatives include preparing for the early adoption of the "Inje-style Basic Income for Rural Areas" and strategies to boost stay-type tourism linked to the 2028 Gangwon Province Sports Festival.
In terms of everyday life, Choi announced plans to make all city and public buses within the county free for both residents and tourists. This policy follows the 2024 initiative for free rides for seniors and the 2025 expansion to the Inje-Hongcheon route.
In the healthcare sector, Choi revealed that discussions are underway with the military to allow joint use of the new hospital to be built for the 12th Division Medical Battalion, scheduled to begin construction in 2027. The hospital, with a total floor area of 2,613 square meters (790 pyeong), will function as a clinic focused on outpatient care and will expand its departments to include pediatrics. This complements emergency care at Inje Goryeo Hospital, obstetrics and gynecology at Sokcho Medical Center, pediatric intensive care at Kangwon National University Children’s Hospital, and aims to address medical gaps by allocating military budget to the military hospital as well.
